It seems that sites are choosing to use larger images with more spacious designs.  Using large images gives people a better idea of what a product will look like.  What do you think of images, the bigger the better, no?

Larger images work well on desktops and laptops because there is a lot of space available, relatively.  They also work well on the small screens on mobiles and tablets.

Larger images are not just being limited to home or landing pages either, they;re spreading through whole sites, from listings pages to the product pages themselves.  All Saints for example, use one of the largest images we've seen on an e-commerce site, from home to product page.

Their responsive design allows the use of multiple layout sizes for different devices and window sizes.

Reviews have been in the UK press a lot recently.  It all revolves around companies not showing all the reviews and cherry-picking the good ones.  No one has been fined or penalised for it as yet, but it's definitely something that should be fully transparent.

In the age of social media, non-published bad reviews could be published and gain more traction because it's not been published than any good review on a site.

Reviews aren't necessarily always against a company, but more likely against a product or service.  Is this such a bad thing?  People aren't the same and so don't want the same items.  This is why most e-commerce sites sell multiple versions of the same a different products.

We're not saying blindly add all reviews to the site.  But a careful strategy of structured feedback through a third party such as Feefo or Reevo could help manage feedback and company responses to it.  This could delay listing reviews until they've been responded to and any complaints settled.
