Four WordPress Hosting plans. One floor. The difference is how much looking after you want done for you, and how much change time is already in the price. Figures below are monthly and exclude VAT.
If you only read one line: most businesses should be on ‘Host Care’ at £109. The cheaper tiers are not a worse product. They are a smaller job, for when someone in your team is actually doing the rest.
All WordPress Hosting Plans include
Every plan includes hosting with us, or we manage a host you have already nominated. You also get SSL, daily backups kept off the live server, uptime monitoring, and an emergency restore path we have tested rather than assumed.
That should be boring. A lot of cheap setups only pretend to have it, because the backup has never been restored and the certificate renews only if someone remembers.
None of the tiers promise an uptime percentage. None of them make a site impossible to break into. Monitoring and scanning mean you are less likely to be the last to know. They are not a guarantee.
‘Host’, £39
‘Host’ is for a stable site, with someone in the business who is comfortable in WordPress and will stay that way.
Included: the floor above.
Not included: updates, malware scanning, a monthly health email, time for changes, a staging site, or a free move. Coming to us on this tier, a standard WordPress move is normally £249. Anything that is not a standard install is quoted before we start.
Pick it if updates will get done in-house, on a schedule, and you do not want to pay us to duplicate that work. Do not pick it because it is the cheapest line and you hope the site will look after itself.
‘Host Secure’, £69
‘Host Secure’ is for a site you want kept patched and scanned, while your team still makes the changes.
Included: everything in ‘Host’, plus WordPress, plugin and theme updates, staged where possible, malware scanning, and a monthly health email.
Not included: tweak time, a staging site, or a free move. The move is normally £249, same as on ‘Host’. This tier covers the update and scan routine. It does not pick up the small jobs sitting in your inbox.
Choose it when people are happy editing pages, swapping images and adding news, and you would rather not own the update queue. Skip it if every small request already waits for weeks, or if you want changes tried in private before customers see them.
‘Host Care’, £109
‘Host Care’ is the default. That includes sites we did not build.
Included: everything in ‘Host Secure’, plus alerts we act on rather than only forward, a monthly care report, up to 30 minutes of small tweaks, a staging site on our hosting, and a standard WordPress migration at no extra charge.
A small tweak is text, an image, opening hours, a form field, a plugin setting or a short section. If it fits in half an hour, it does not need a separate quote. If it will not, we say so first. Larger work is quoted before it starts.
The edges are real:
- The 30 minutes do not roll over. A quiet month is not banked.
- There is no priority response. If a slow reply costs money, this is the wrong ceiling.
- There is no out-of-hours emergency desk.
- Scanning and monitoring are included. A genuine infection is a separate incident, not something the monthly fee swallows.
- SEO and ads are not included. A looked-after site is a better place to spend on either, later. They are their own plans.
- A redesign, a new shop or a run of new pages is project work, not care time.
Updates can still break something. Staging is how we catch that before it is public, and how a bad update gets rolled back. It is not a promise that software never misbehaves.
Plans are monthly. Annual billing is there if you would rather pay once, and it includes two months free. Same plan. If you leave, the site and its backups are yours and we hand them over.
‘Host Business’, £179
‘Host Business’ is for a site that earns real money, where waiting is expensive, and where there is usually work in the queue.
Included: everything in ‘Host Care’, plus priority response, one retained hour a month (it can roll to a maximum of two), a quarterly performance pass, and DNS help within reason. Staging and a standard WordPress migration are included, as on ‘Host Care’.
Not included: unlimited development time. The hour is a retainer, not an open tab. SEO and Google Ads stay on their own plans. A large rebuild is still a separate project.
Between ‘Host Care’ and ‘Host Business’, ignore which one sounds more serious. Ask whether half an hour a month, without priority, is enough. If requests already pile up, or a morning without an answer would cost more than the gap between £109 and £179, ‘Host Business’ is the tidier fit. If requests are occasional and small, ‘Host Care’ is enough.
Three questions
Who runs updates today, and do they actually run them? If the honest answer is nobody, do not start on ‘Host’. ‘Host Secure’ is the minimum that puts patching on us. ‘Host Care’ also puts the watching and the small jobs on us.
Who makes the small changes, and how long do they wait? If your team is fine in the editor, ‘Host Secure’ can be the right stop. If a phone-number change becomes a task that waits, that wait is what ‘Host Care’ is for.
What does a slow reply cost? Annoying, not expensive: stay on ‘Host Care’. Missed bookings, a shop that cannot take orders, or a team that needs a same-day answer: look at ‘Host Business’.
You can move between tiers later. You are picking how much of the job stays in your week, not a personality.
